Aftershock earthquakes after the major earthquake last night on the Iraq-Iran borders

Baghdad (NINA) - General Meteorological and Seismology Commission in the Ministry of Transport announced "several aftershocks earthquakes after the major earthquake that occurred last night on the Iraq-Iran border that rated between 2.4 to 4.4 on the Richter scale, composed of nine degrees.

it added in a statement today "the earthquake started at 10:00 o'clock yesterday evening and lasted until 9.27 pm this morning, local time, the people of Ali Al Gharbi city and the nearby areas felt the main quake.

It explained "no material and human damages were recorded as a result of the quake," adding that "a delegation of employees of the seismic monitoring department will conduct a field visit to the Amara City and Ali Al Gharbi in order to hold an introductory training course on the measures needed to be taken during the earthquake. /End/
