Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, said that he discussed with Turkey's Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the peace process and efforts exerted toward solving Kurdish issue in Turkey peacefully.
A statement on Wednesday, March 27, by the Presidency of Kurdistan Region, quoted Nechirvan Barzani saying, during the Region's Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, that any agreement between the government of Kurdistan Region and Turkey in the field of energy will be within the frame of Iraq's Constitution.
The statement added that Nechirvan Barzani also talked about the visit of Kurdistan Region's Government delegation to Germany, saying that it was to take part in the Energy Conference.
The Region's Prime Minister pointed out that, on the side of the Conference, he met with German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, requesting her to support the Region's oil policy, within the frames of Iraq's Constitution, expressing the Region's Government readiness to help Europe in the field of supplying energy through Turkey.
He added that Chancellor Merkel said that she will urge German companies, working in the field of energy, to go and work in Kurdistan Region.
The statement went on saying that the delegation also met the Chairman of European Energy Providing Committee, affirming the beginning of a new era between the Government of Kurdistan Region and Europe in the field of energy. / End.
