BREAKING NEWS Regiment Commander, killed, officer wounded east of Tikrit

Tikrit (NINA) – A regiment commander, at the rank of staff colonel, killed and another officer at the rank of captain and a solder wounded on Wednesday, Feb. 6, when an improvised explosive device went off in Tuz-Khormato district, east of Tikrit.

Military source told NINA that an improvised explosive device, emplaced on a village road, went off on Wednesday afternoon, against a force of the 3rd Regiment, 16th Brigade of the 4th Military Division of Dijla Operations Command, while the force was carrying a search raid, southwest of Tuz-Khormato district. The blast resulted in the killing Colonel Hayman Ghazi, and wounding an officer at the rank of Captain and a soldier, as well as damaging a military vehicle.

He added that the force carried out a raid looking for the attackers. / End.
