Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said, "The demonstrators' legitimate demands are implemented on condition they remain passionate and abide by law."
A statement by the Prime Minister's Office quoted Maliki on Thursday, Jan. 31, in a televised statement saying, "Some of the demonstrators demand are acceptable to the government that will implement them for the citizens, because they do not have political or sectarian agendas and they do not want to abolish the Constitution."
Maliki added, "The ministerial committee charged with following up the demonstrators' demands has achieved big progress in its works."
The Prime Minister expressed confidence in the Iraqi people, saying, "The Iraqis have shared life and been living in harmony away from sectarianism." / End.
