Baghdad (NINA) – Lawmaker from Iraqiya slate, Talal al-Zuba'e, condemned torturing a detainee by security agencies until death after 20 days of arresting him.
In a statement on Monday, Jan. 21, Zuba'e said that security agencies arrested the citizen Alwan Hussein Ali al-Zuba'e, twenty days ago and tortured him, during interrogation, until he died; they handed the body to his family on Monday, without stating the cause of his death.
Zuba'e demanded Speaker of Parliament, Prime Minister and Commander in Chief to form a fact-finding committee to bring the responsible before justice and put an end to such brutal measures by security agencies against the citizens.
He added that at a time demonstrators and protestors demand issuing a general amnesty, security agencies commit crimes against detainees, and the government does not make a move to stop. / End.
