BAGHDAD / NINA / A member of the Iraqi-Turkish Friendship Committee MP, of the state of law coalition, Ali al-Fayad urged the Turkish officials to take into account their economic and trade relations with Iraq.
He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that "The relations between the two countries may be affected, as a result, of wrong policies of Turkish officials toward Iraq and its internal affairs."
Fayad considered this intervention as "against all international laws and norms and the principles of good neighborliness," calling on all Iraqis to "close ranks in order to miss the opportunity to intervene into their country."
The Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in a statement on Saturday that the policy of targeting national figures in Iraq, pursued by the Prime Minister of Iraq Nuri al-Maliki, has created tension almost up to the point of armed confrontations.
He added that "the escalation of tension in Iraq, causing vibration to the image of Maliki's government within the various components of the Iraqi people". / End
