BAGHDAD / NINA / Kurdistan Alliance confirmed the visit of a delegation from the Ministry of Peshmerga to Baghdad this week to hold talks on mechanisms of joint action in the disputed areas.
A member of the Security and Defense Committee in the Parliament, MP Hassan Jihad said in a press statement today 23, Dec "the date of the visit of the Peshmerga delegation to Baghdad has not been determined yet," stressing that "it will be this week."
He added that "the purpose of the delegation's visit is the understanding about the mechanisms of joint work between the Peshmerga forces and the Federal Army in the Kurdish areas outside the region," stressing "the importance of such meetings and the need to be continued to get positive results."
The President Jalal Talabani had discussed, before his illness, with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, the current political crisis and the latest developments in the region.
A presidential statement said "they exchanged views on the situation in Iraq and the region in general, and it was decided that the Prime Minister invites Kurdistan delegation to visit Baghdad to continue the talks."
The statement added that "They stressed the need to adopt a truce and the frank and transparent dialogue and work in accordance with the Constitution and the consensus as well as the National agreements. / End
