Baghdad (NINA) – The Genel Energy Co. announced its intention to cooperate with Turkey in the field of energy by bringing oil from Kurdistan region and fulfill its needs of natural gas.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) web site reported from Anadolu News Agency quoting on Thursday, Aug. 9, the Manager of Genel Energy saying that the company intends to transport oil from Kurdistan region to Turkey, to replace oil imported from Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan.
He added that it is planning to increase oil production up to one million barrels a day and production of natural gas to be 10-15 billion cubic meters.
"The Company is planning to lay 600 km long oil and gas pipelines through Turkey." He concluded. / End.
