BAGHDAD / NINA / Deputy of the Prime Minister, Ruz Nuri Shaways discussed with the President of the Islamic Supreme Council, Ammar al-Hakim and the number of the council's leaders, the regional and international situations and their impact on Iraq.
A statement by Shaways Office said that the meeting, which was attended by Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and Second Deputy Speaker Arif Tayfur , discussed the situation in the country in general and the political in particular.
Shaways listened to a political evaluation outlined by the President of the Islamic Supreme Council on the efforts of the national political blocs to curtail the controversy as to contribute , through dialogue, to overcome the current situation in the country.
The Participants also stressed in the meeting "the need to work strenuously, and to continue in the national meetings to promote the balance of the political process and its national constants that keep the democratic, federal Iraq" the statement said. / End
