Baghdad / NINA /-- Ministry of Planning and the European Union signed a cooperation agreement to improve water management, capabilities in Iraq.
A statement by the Ministry said today, Minister of Planning Ali Shukri, said at the signing ceremony in the presence of Jana Haapaschkova ambassador of the European Union mission: "The agreement aims to support the concerned Iraqi authorities with water management to become more efficient and raise the level of public services for water pointing out that there will be a specific focus on supporting the integrated management of groundwater and monitoring water quality.
For her part, the EU ambassador Haapaschkova expressed her happiness of signing this agreement, indicating that Iraq's relationship with the European Union is distinct thing which encouraged the U E to consider opening an official embassy in Baghdad. / End
