Ankara refuses Iraq's request to stop importing oil from Kurdistan.

BAGHDAD / NINA / The Turkish government considered the contract between them and the Kurdistan Regional Government to import oil from the territory as legally, refusing at the same time the central government's request to stop importation.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) quoting Hurriyet Daily News newspaper a Turkish official as saying that "Ankara considers that the contract is legal, refusing Baghdad's request to stop import.


He added: "that Turkey would have not begun the process of importing oil from the region if there is a problem in the contract and.

The Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said in a news conference on Friday: "Turkey began to import between five to ten trucks per day of crude from Kurdistan Region, and the quantities may increase to between one hundred to two hundred trucks a day.
