BAGHDAD / Nina / Muqtada al-Sader discussed with a delegation of German Orientlists the relationship between Islamic and Western societies.
Sader's office in a statement quoted him as saying during the meeting with the delegation: "Most of the impressions in the West caused by some Orientalists who wrote the history of the Middle East with their personal impressions and understanding."
He stressed on "the importance of correcting the picture drawn by some Orientalists about the Islamic religion and the Muslim community."
From their part the delegation expressed their happiness to meet al-Sader and to get the opportunity to know his views on important topics closely.
The delegation included the head of Hamburg province and the head of the Middle East department of German Ministry of Economy and the editor in chief of one of German newspapers as well as the representative of the German Catholic Church. / End
