Baghdad / NINA /--Parliament Speaker Osama Nujaifi discussed today with the ministerial European mission situation in Iraq and in Arab region.
The mission included the foreign ministers of Sweden, Bulgaria, and Poland, touched enhancing relations between Iraq and the EU countries "to ensure the economic future and promotes the interests of the Iraqi people and the European peoples alike.
According to a statement by Nujaifi office ,he stressed during a meeting held today with the three European ministers on the importance of Iraqi role in the Arab region, particularly in solving the Syrian crisis, expressing his deep concern over the situation in Syria and the seriousness of the civil war scenario.
He noted "the importance of stopping all forms of violence, warning at the same time of any international intervention may generate more tension," pointing to the importance of a European initiative that contribute in defusing the crisis as a whole, according to the statement.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari. / End
