Baghdad (NINA) – MP from the State of Law Coalition Samira Al Musawi said "the measures adopted by some political blocs to withdraw the confidence from the government are unconstitutional."
In a statement issued by her media office, Musawi added "the withdrawal cannot take place by leaders of the blocs' decisions without the approval of the blocs' members who announced in public that they refuse the withdrawal of confidence," referring the those MPs decided to file a lawsuit in the federal court to check their signatures.
The Iraqiya Slate announced that it got amore than the requested number of signatures to withdraw confidence in Maliki's government.
Withdrawing confidence from Maliki's government requires 164 votes out of 325, the total number of MPs; which means half plus one. /End/
