Baghdad (NINA) – Vice President Khudy'yer al-Khuza'e called on Canada to upgrade its diplomatic representation in Iraq and to develop the relations between both countries.
The Vice President's Office quoted Khuza'e asserting during his meeting on Sunday, May 27, with Canadian nonresident Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Gwozdecky, stressing, "The necessity to upgrade diplomatic relations and develop economic, commercial and scientific relations in the interest of both countries' people, through entering of Canadian firms into Iraqi markets and mutual scientific and cultural exchanged."
For his part, Ambassador Gwozdecky stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations, pointing out the progress achieved by Iraq through hosting the Arab Summit and the 5+1 meetings with Iran.
The statement added that the two discussed also issues of common interests. / End.
