Baghdad (NINA) – Foreign Undersecretary, Labeeb Abbawi, discussed means to develop bilateral relations and exchange of experience with two delegations from Afghanistan, the first headed by Afghanistan's Minister of Immigrations and Immigrants, Jamahiri Anwari, and the second headed by the Head of Second Political Department at Afghanistan's Foreign Ministry, Najeeballah Ali Khalil.
A statement issued on Tuesday, May 22, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that in the meeting stress was put on the depth of historic, religious and cultural relations between Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as means to consolidate and develop bilateral relations, in addition to exchange of experience.
Discussion also covered the case of Afghanis stranded on the Iraq-Syria borders and a mechanism to solve it, as well as agreeing on discussion on means to consolidate cooperation.
The Afghani delegation praised the efforts exerted by Iraqi officials, especially the Foreign Ministry. / End.
