Baghdad (NINA) - Iraq was selected for membership of the Executive Office of Islamic Environment Conference, which concluded yesterday in Kazakhstan.
A source in the media office told NINA "the Iraqi delegation, headed by Minister of Environment Sargon Lazar, participating in the Islamic Environment Ministers Conference of, which concluded, yesterday, gained the confidence of the conferees for the membership of the Executive Office."
The conference was held two days ago with the participation of environment ministers of 57 member states of the Islamic Cooperation Organization, which lasted for two days.
The conference was attended also by representatives of the Arab League, the Center for Environment and Development for Arab Region and Europe CEDARE, the UN Economic, Social Committee and the Office of North Africa, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia ESCWA, the United Nations Environment Program and the Regional Office for West Asia, the Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining, and the Islamic Development Bank. /End/
