Baghdad (NINA) – Iraqi State Railroad Company said that World Bank has taken up to execute a railroad project connecting Iraq with eastern Arab countries.
Head of the Company's Media department, Jawad al-Kharsan, told NINA on Wednesday, May 16, "The project includes Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Palestine; seeking to reinstate Iraq to its normal position among Arab countries in transportation field to serve movement of services and good, as well as passengers.
He added that the southern Safwan border town will be Iraq's main gate toward the Gulf states and the northern Zakho border town will be the gate toward Turkey. / End.
