Amara, Maysan (NINA) –The President of the Iraqi Football Association Hussein Saeed confirmed that “The elections of the IFA will be conducted on its date and locations set before.”
On a phone call from Erbil, Saeed said to NINA Sunday “The media reports over the FIFA’s decision to change the location of the elections from Baghdad to Erbil are groundless.”
He clarified that “The IFA sent an official letter to the FIFA over conducting the elections in Baghdad on July 24th and the IFA did not receive any comment from the FIFA in relation to changing the location of the elections.”
“As officials at the IFA, we wish to conduct the elections in Baghdad but the final decision over location of conducting the elections is in the hand of the FIFA and the AFC,” according to Saeed.
Saeed urged “to conduct legal elections to avoid mistakes and defects of the past and sustain positive points and achievements of the former phase to serve the Iraqi Football and fans.” /End/
