Bayati condemns assassination attempt against Lami

Baghdad (NINA) –The leader within the State of Law's Coalition, Abas al-Bayati, condemned the assassination attempt targeted the head of the Iraqi Journalist Syndicate Mu'ayed al-Lami."

Bayati called Lami by phone on Tuesday expressing his support for the Iraqi Journalists.

Bayati assured that "The Iraqi Journalism will remain a candle for freedom and democracy."

"The press is the supervisor who monitors the process of rebuilding Iraq," he added.
Lami survived an assassination attempt when unidentified armed group targeted him in Baya' area of southwestern Baghdad./End/
