Nineveh Team wins Iraqi Chess Championship

Baghdad (NINA) –Nineveh province’s team won the first place at the end of the Iraqi National Chess Championship on Thursday.

Nineveh team collected 22 points, while Baghdad province’s Team collected 18.5 points to come in the second place and Basra province’s team came in the third place after getting 18 points.

The first three teams will represent Iraq in upcoming abroad competitions.

Iraqi National Chess Championship started on last Tuesday with participation of 16 teams representing most of the Iraqi provinces. /End/
