MoH reveals figures of 2007 violence victims

Baghdad (NINA)- The annual report prepared by the Ministry of Health revealed killing16,536 Iraqis and injuring 38,609 others due to violence in Iraq in 2007.

The report stated that "Baghdad came in the first place with 5,170 mortalities and 18,335 injured persons, followed by Nineveh Province with 2,775 mortalities and 6,217 injury cases, while Kirkuk Province came third with 2,431 people killed and 655 injured persons, then, Basra in the fourth place with 1,185 death cases and 1,387 injuries."

The report mentioned that these statistics are derived from official Iraqi health departments' records, however, it did not mention if these figures include casualties among the security forces. /End/
